Elegant Hats Exhibit

From June 13th to July 10th come in and see our display!
Exhibit Hours:
Tuesday - Friday, 9-5
Saturday, 12-5
Admission: $3 per person

Cumberland County Museum is proud to present the Susan Beaton Hat Exhibit. A collector of hats, Ms. Beaton resides in Maccan, NS. Come by and see the exhibit, before her hats go back into storage!

Minudie Heritage Open for 2010 Season

Update: Due to the expected bad weather this weekend the Minudie Day events will be postponed until next Sunday 18th July. They will star around noon beside the Amos Seaman School Museum as usual and hopefully mother nature will cooperate this time!

Minudie Day celebrations start at Noon on Sunday, July 18th at the Amos Seaman School Museum in Minudie. Events this year include: barbecue & strawberry shortcake teas, tours of all heritage buildings & sites, wagon rides, plowing competition, displays of antique machinery, moon walker, face painting, fish pond, games of chance & petting zoo. Plus local musical entertainment.

Blessing of the Crops Festival will be on Sunday, August 8th. Mass starts at 2pm at St. Denis Church in Minudie followed by a reception at St. Tomas Aquinas Church Hall in Joggins, then back to St. Denis for an evening concert.

Ham & Salad Take-Out Dinner Sunday, September 26th.
Tickets $10.00.

Dinner and Live Auction

An Evening with our Four Fathers is one you aren't going to want to miss. The Cumberland County Museum and Archives will be hosting the dinner and live auction at the Amherst Lions Club, 9 Electric Street on Saturday September 18, 2010 with the bar opening at 5:30pm and dinner to follow at 6:30pm. Tickets are $30 per person and are available at the Cumberland County Museum.

Malagash Sand Castle Festival

The Malagash Salt Mine Museum is holding their Annual Sand Castle Festival on Sunday July 11, 2010, from 11am until 4pm. This event is to be held at the Blue Sea Beach in Malagash. There will be a canteen available. First, second and third prizes will be awarded in 4 different categories. Please call 902-257-2407 for additional information and entrance fees.
